Our big day!!! We are going to get our little kerry baby Ansa home. She is now 8 weeks old and ready to live with us. Except that she is not coming to work with me anD mom. Only I am allowed to go to work with my mom!! She works now at big animal clinic at Oulu. We have there 9 vets, half of them does big animals everyday and other half does smal animals every day. We also on duty 24/ day everyday. So on regularly bases me and mom also work like that. In fact right now! But today our shift ends 21.00. We see here everything and people call and ask everything....
Moms favourite operation is amputation because she lost one finger last summer, so she has now one dog, one parrot and hedgehog pal, that they have amputated the toe too!!! I must say that mom is wild one!! I try to keep my toes out of her way...
We also have a wild hedgie at home, because someone took it from nest last summer and tame it. Then she became ill and probably same person took her to us. So our country owns wild animals and we could't give it back to that person. And at work they ask us to take care of it. I have so much work with that, but I accidentally ate her food yesterday evening... Mom didn't like it....She doesn't understand how demanding work that is!!! Well I better take a nap here in my office here in Oulus Small animal practice!

We have moved!!

to northern Finland near Oulu! Yes, mom finally lost her mind and here we are. Well I don't mind at all because now we live at countryside in our own house. I have big yard where I can run free: But best thing is that every morning when bunny goes to school bus, I go with her. But mom takes me every time back from bus. I really like to go with bunny. Also every afternoon I'll wait her and that bus so that I can pick her from there!!

At the same house with us lives this man, I call him sausage man. Yes, because he gives me sausages everyday. Mom doesn't like that at all... She thinks that my stomach gets upset.

And yes I heard THE news, we are going to get a puppy http://personal.inet.fi/koti/slievemish/puppies/puppies_f.htm from that W2 litter.

Rats are fine, they have got lots of new titles from shows. Ansa, Regina, Martta and Rauha gained Fin CH, Regina is also Double Winner, Martta is MP-09, MP-10 (best of variation). We are hoping that Rauha is going to meet soon very gorgeous male rat... And boy, yes we are going to have few male rats, all rex rats.

So I think I definitively need Kerry companion, I can't handle all these rats all by myself!! But I love them all♥

Oh blaah my news died before it ever was born at all. I was hoping to have kerry friend here to home. But that dam didn't get pregnant at all. We are so disappointed. So our breeder took plan B to use. So lets hope that this works. So this puppy will have same father line than my mother line. So I really hope to have little puppy next summer....

At the moment we have vacation and we are spending it here near Oulu. This is countryside, so I can walk and run free here all the time. This is my moms new boyfriends home. He really likes me, our rats and our little bunny (mommy's daughter). It's cold -25 Celsius degree and lots of snow. So we are heating this house by wood-burning owen. They are very typical here in Finland.

I'm sure spring is coming because we saw today about 20 pheasants ladies. They were walking on the route and they were very lively. We felt definitively that spring will come....

New year and new tricks!

My dear dear friends! This winter seems to be also long, cold and very snowy too, like last winter. So I have decided to spend as much time inside as it is possible. I can always read good books and eat chewy bones, like rest of you my friends.

My smallest boyfriend Nipsu the chicu, have visited me several times but he is now at sick leave.He was operated by vet and guess what, they (stupid people) took his masculinity away! During this cold winter, how unfair. At this same building lives also Aatu the pug, my other boyfriend, but he snores too loud and too much, so I won't take him anymore here for night. It's too much if I can't sleep whole night. Nipsu has been here also for night, he doesn't snore at all.

That boxer Otto, still comes sometimes to visit us, and also stays here many many nights with us. But he is not my boyfriend, he is more like little brother.

We are waiting to hear very exciting news. But I'll tell you them as soon as I hear them.

My humum hasn't been able to write here in months. She hurt very badly her left hand. She lost three fingers, one the middle finger had to amputate partly, next two fingers doesn't work almost at all. She helped our friend to load her horse. But while mum was inside that trailer and horse decide not to come in that trailer her fingers crushed in that barrier and nylon rope cut that middle finger. Those three fingers did bend over that barrier in wrong direction, so that is why they don't work any more well.

But now she can be my secretary again. I was at my last dog show last august, it was Kerry&wheaten speciality club show and I was BIS veteran there. So we thought that in my age it's good to stop at the top!

I'm gettin better

Yes my friends, cortisone really helps me. I don't cough at all any more. So this is allergic type cough. Jane is really happy now of course. I'm really energetic and lively now. And also I can take better care of our rats now.

Sad news is that our Regina gave birth only one death baby rat. But her sister has given birth for approximately 10 sweet babies so maybe we will have one or two (we hope for two) rex rat girls. She lives in Sanders rattery, where all our fancy rats are from. Our Siiri is now meeting boyfriend for two weeks, please cross your paws my friends! Because we really hope that she would be pregnant when she comes to home. And of course we hope that she gives birth for many baby rat girl.
Regina is on the left, chocolate rex and Siiri is on the right russian blue variegated. They are eating porridge, made of children food and oat porridge. They love it!

Summer blues

Well it's been very long winter here this year. Lots of snow and very very cold. I had very bad cough.
So I had to visit several times my vet. Last time was this week. First I had kennel cough, and of course I got antibiotics. They helped a little bit.
Then mum realised that I also had nose mite caused by Pneumonyssus caninum. For that my vet gave me Stronghold cure.
Still my coughing didn't stop. This week my vet took few x-rays from me, while I was sleeping. My mum was really worried because I'm almost 12 years old and she didn't wanted me to put under local anaesthesia. But everything went well.
My heart is in excellent condition and also lungs and there is no sing any kind of tumours. Which is very typical for us kerries.
But there is one small problem if you can say so, I have chronic bronchitis. But now I have started to eat cortisone and lets see what happens, if it doesn't help enough, then I have another medicine which opens my respiratory ducts then.
Rats are doing just fine. We are expecting babies for Regina that coholate rex during next week. We have now 6 rats, and I have lots of work when I take care of them. Maybe this picture helps you understand why!!

Here is our silver chocolate Lulu, her real name is Sanders Bergamotti. She is a little shy girl but very beautiful.

This is our oldest one, Vieno, colour is black. Real name is Sanders Golly Dolly and now she has two titles, she is Silver Pet and also best black which is here MP-09. She is also registered, if rat gets LK1 or LK2 from official show then you can register rat. She has very nice temperament and she is really good rat♥

This one is Ansa, Sanders Lou Lou, colour is russian blue. Very athletic person but likes people a lot of! She is beautiful girl too. Lets see what will happen at shows!

This one is Regina, Sanders Linnanheimo. She is rex and colour is chocolate. At this point she looks good. Likes people and a bit too much jumping! I have high hopes for her too. Well we will see...

Here is Siiri, Sanders Wild Child. She really is wild child! She rides wit Jade and goes everywhere she wants to. Colour is russian blue variegated. She has had accident with her tail so I can't take her to shows, really sad. But she goes to agility races just for fun. We don't take it seriously at all. it just for fun because it seems to me that Siiri likes it.

New year 2010

Last year ended quite normally, nothing specially happened to me. We did lost our blue rat Ansa just before Christmas. But me and Jane went to see our rat breeder and we got two new rat babies.
I actually like them a lot and Siiri (Angerkoski) is funny, because she sometimes runs in my coat. I have to stay very still at that time.

We think together that I probably wont go anymore to dog shows because my age and I have several small tumours around my body. But I they don't bother me at all.

Life is good because I can be at home with my Jane and my rats. And we are going to get the fourth rat next weekend, she is rex chocolate, she is cute!

Jane promised to take some pics from all of us so you can see them and me.

I don't remember if I told you that she fell down very badly from horseback while she was riding in last September. Couple ribs broke, also tendons were almost broken. Also her left hand didn't work very well in few months. She had to ate those very strong pain killers to manage in everyday life. No she is in much better condition.

Summertime

Summer has been wonderful this year, very warm and shiny. Me and Jane has spent lot of our time in horse stables where Jane rides 2-4 times per week. Sometimes I'll go with her and that horse but many times it has been too hot for me so I have stayed inside that stable where is lot cooler!

Otto has also visited us very regularly, we have been swimming with Jane of course. Otto is totally mad in the water, he runs like rabbit and bulls at the same time!! Imagine that! I'd rather walk there and stand there while I relax at the same time.

On Friday evenings we have been watching Miss Marples detective stories from telly, they are very sophisticated for me. I would like to watch Police dog Rex (originally German series) but Jane thinks that I get too exited. So if I bark little and maybe telly moves few inches??

Our Bunny will go to school next week, to second class. Also her birthday is in this month. So we did some shopping today and Jane is sewing something to her...

Next month I have couple dog shows too.. Hey my friends what have you done this summer??

Käsitöitä ja Miss Marple

Miss Marple on miun ikisuosikkini dekkarikirjallisuudessa ja näistä filmatisoinneista pidän erityisesti. Koska miulla on erittäin hatarat muistikuvat toisesta isoäidistäni ja toinen isoäitini ei meistä lapsista juuri lainkaan välittänyt, on Miss Marple jonkinlainen isoäidin esikuva samalla miulle. Aina yhtä hillitysti käyttäytyvä, kudin mukanaan ja ennen kaikkea pää on terävä kuin partaveitsi. Luonnollisesti jotakin vanhuuden vaivaa täytyy olla eli ne huonot jalat.
Toisinaan tunnen itseni hieman samankaltaiseksi sillä nuo huonot jalat ovat täälläkin ja aivoja kuulemma tutkimusten mukaan riittäisi vaikka naapurille ja miekin kuskaan toisinaan kudinta mukanani.. Tykkään muuten todella paljon hänen pukeutumistyylistään, jos uskaltaisin niin käyttäisin tuollaisia vaatteita.

Eilen sitten hyppäsin puntariin ja viikon aikana olen karistanut tasan 3 kiloa. Osa on varmasti nestettä mutta osa varmasti sitä itseään. Pitkä tie on edessä mutta nyt ei ainakaan tämä alku ole ollut niin vaikea kuin odotin mutta vieroitusoireita on tuosta sokerista ollut ja on vielä välilläkin, sehän on selvää.

Käsityöinspiraatio on palannut ja sain tehtyä pupulle ne pyjamahousut ja nyt sitten on työn alla sille pyjaman paita synttärilahjaksi. Samalla sitten yritän aina välillä korjailla nuita hänen vaatteita.

Noa Noa vaatteet on rantautuneet ja meinasin kyllä mennä ostamaan sieltä sellaisen miun näköisen paitulin kyllä. Tosin vasta ensi kuussa, tässä kuussa varmasti päivät loppuu kesken kun haluan olla kotona kun pupulla alkaa koulu ja mie käyn kuitenkin ratsastamassa ainakin kahdesti viikossa ja nyt on tuota käsillä tekemisen intoa..

Niin ja ostin hameen! Sellaisen kynähameen mallisen joka levenee sitten polvista alaspäin, mahdollisesti pitää sitten ensi kesänä pienentää se mutta hame oli edullinen ja malli miulle passeli joten olen tyytyväinen.

Syyskuussa on pari koiranäyttelyä joten tällä viikolla tarvii trimmata Jade ja muutenkin ruveta pikkuhiljaa laittaamaan vanhaa Rouvaa kuntoon...

Ratsastusta sotanorsulla ja kuinka minusta tuli koppakuoriainen

Tunne oli kyllä hyvin mielenkiintoinen kun hain laitumelta tuon 170cm säkäisen ja jytkyn mutta, samalla lihaksettoman tosin pulskan ruunan. Mietin siinä kävellessäni että, millainen mahtaa olla tämän ruunan osaaminen ko olin ymmärrtänyt ettei osaa edes pohkeenväistöä ja laiskaksi sanottu.Varsinainen hoito ja varusteiden laitto oli ihan helppoa eli se oli ok. Mutta selkään pääsy ei ollutkaan helppoa sillä ruuna väisti aina kun olin saanut hänet seisomaan paikoilleen ja itse päässyt kivisen sillan päälle sopivaan kohtaan. No kärsivällisyys palkitaan ja ja arviolta noin 20 minuutin päästä sain ruunan pysymään paikoillaan ja pääsin sastulaan eikä sillä ollut kiirettä mihinkään vaan sain rauhassa säädellä vielä jalustimia selästä käsin. Mutta sitten matkaan ja kyllä pohkeisiin vastattiin ihan niinkuin pitikin. Eihän se mikään laiska ollut siinä mielessä. Tosin kankea kuin kanki kaikkonen jollei kankeampikin. Suu oli aika tunnoton ja ei tuo kyllä ymmärtänyt puoli pidätteistä mitään eikä istunnalla pysäyttämisestä. Tiukat ohjat ja voimaa siinä tarvittiin ja siitä en tykkää lainkaan. Ravi oli ihan kamallaa ko hää kulkee erittäin pitkässä muodossa, ei siis kokoa itseään yhtään niin siellä heiluin sivulle ja eteen kunnes sitten aloin keventää. Kyllä laukat nousivat ihan hyvin niin oikea kuin vasen. Ja kyllä se kuumuu vallan sillä ihan itse alkoi tarjoamaan ravia ja laukkaa. Hätäjarru löytyi kun kokeilin eli toinen ohja löysälle ja toisesta sitten tuntumaa ja käännetään niin pysähtyi hyvin. Luultavasti ei ole koskaan käytetty kun tuota hevosta on Unkarissa käytetyy vain vaellusratsuna siellä. Kyllä mulle tuli sellainen tunne kuin olisin ollut sotanorsun selässä mennyt...

Kuinka miusta tuli sitten koppakuoriainen? Myöhemmin sitten menin kokeilemaan sitä pientä 150 säkäistä suokkia ja ihan hyvin meni mutta, ei ole kuitenkaan suustaan niin herkkä kuin olisin toivonut. Pohkeille herkkä kuitenkin on. Omistaja kertoinkin että, kentällä on sitten enemmän rautaa suussa. Maastossa toimii nivelillä... Noh omistajan toimesta oli sit jäänyt kiristämättä satulavyö ja mie tulin alas niinkuin aina eli mun huono jalka eli vasen ottaa satulan takakaareen kiinni hieman noh koska satula oli löysällä niin valahdin satulan kanssa alas! Siihen sitten maahan mätkähdin jalat ja kädet taivasta kohden sätkien ko koppakuoriainen!! Voi mikä näky mahdoinkaan olla... Miulla ko tuo tasapaino on heikko niin olipa vaikea päästä ylös sen jälkeen vaan...

Tulin sit tuon jälkeen kotiin ja kassien kans eteiseen ja kas taas olin sit naamallani siinä ja koira ihmettelemässä tilannetta. Ei voinut ko hihitellä... Lopputulos on tämän epätieteellisen tukimuksen perusteella se että, sotanorsu vei miun tasapainon sillä ravillaan.

Onneksi pääsen tänään hakemaan tasapainon takaisin Gamsulla, sen kanssa ratsastaminen on mulle pelkkää juhlaa mie nautin joka sekunnista;)

Myötäilyjä ruunan kanssa

Nyt viime viikolla olen kokenut melkoisia elämyksiä ruunan kanssa. Gamsu on kehittynyt valtavasti nyt eteenpäin ratsastuksellisesti. Ja minä myös hänen kanssaan. Maastoillessamme miulla on paljon peltoja käytettävissäni, joissa voimme ottaa kunnon laukkaharjoitteita ja minä voin hioa istuntaani samalla. Vastaavasti niillä pelloilla voimme myös tehdä ihan kouluratsastusharjoitteita.
Mie hoksasin miten Gamsu lähtee kokoamaan itseään kun katselin tallinpitäjän ratsastusta. Kokeilin sitten pellolla tätä kun ravasin ensin että, sain lämmitettyä Gamsun kunnolla. Miulla kun ei ole kunnollisia jalkavoimia niin pohkeet eivät ole kovin hääppöiset mutta tämä sopii Gamsulle selvästi ja ohjat saa olla aika löysät. Mutta vielä ei voi pitää ohjia kaulassa kiinne vaan pitää levittää hieman ja sitten varovasti sormilla ikäänkuin leikkiä ohjilla ihan vähän niin Gamsu myötää samoin tein. Olipa hieno tunne kun niin pienillä avuilla hää myötäs ja molempiin suuntiin eikä tuntunut enää jäykältä. Gamsu oli oikein tyytyväinen näiden lenkkien jälkeen, rento kaikin puolin. Paljon olen kehunut ja kiittänyt häntä.
Enää voi vain toivoa lottovoittoa sillä tuon hevosen haluaisin ehdottomasti itselleni nimenomaan sen hurjan herkkyyden takia. Tiedän ettei ole hevonen joka sopii kaikille mutta itselleni herkkä hevonen sopii.

Joskus elämä heittää...

Viime talvena pukkasi tuo ratsastus into tosi voimakkaana takas. Löysinkin sitten itselleni hyvän paikan missä olen saanut ratsastaa useamman kerran viikossa maksutta. Ensin ratsastin vaikeaa suokkia pari kertaa viikossa ja tein maasta käsin töitä tuon hevosen kanssa, sen mitä miun fyysinen puoli antoi myöten.
Myöhemmin kuvaan tuli myös erittäin hankalana pidetty pv ruuna jossa on puolet täysiveristä. Itse en ole ruunaa missään vaiheessa pitänyt vaikeana vaan ennenminkin avuille herkkänä hevosena ja muuten erittäin järkevänä ja mitään pelkäämättömänä hevosena.
Olen suunnattomasti nauttinut tuosta työskentelystä ruunan kanssa. Tämä ruuna ilmeisesti pysyy vielä tuolla tallilla ensi kevääseen asti ja silloin omistajalla on tarkoitus saada se myytyä. Ruunan maine tosin on aivan hurja. Selässä siellä ei kuulemma ole ihmiset pysyneet jne...
Nyt sitten selvittelin tätä omaa tilannetta tuolta SRL:n kautta ja kävi ilmi että, tulen todennäköisesti saamaan vammaisratsastaja luokituksen joko IV tai III. Ihan hyvä juttu sillä näiden sairauksieni takiahan olen töistäkin poissa ollut jo viimeiset 4 vuotta eli olen kuntoutustuella ja pysyvää työkyvyttömyyseläkettä haetaan ensi vuoden alussa. Toki vaikka työkyvyttömyyden olen jo jotenkin hyväksynyt niin tämäkin asia pitää työstää ja hyväksyä itsensä kanssa.
Mutta nyt onkin sitten semmoinen iso ongelma etten voikaan lähteä tuolla ruunalla valmennuksiin tai kisaamaan. Eipä käy haltijalle sillä hän aikoo kisata sillä itse, mie vaan saan rakentaa sille peruskuntoa... Harmi sillä ruuna on passelin kokoinen miulle, toimii miun alla nätisti, soveltuu vammaisratsastukseen sillä selkään menossa on tosi fiksu. Eli ei hötkyile turhaan lainkaan. Ja kouluratsastuksesta kun on kyse niin kapasiteetti ei tule hevosella heti vastaan vaan miulla se tulee ennemmin vastaan. Harmittaa ko miulla ois motivaatio kova nimenomaan tuon hevosen kanssa. Juuri nyt tuntuu niin väärältä etten ole lottovoittaja tai syntynyt kultalusikka suussa. Että "vanha" sanonta pitänee paikkansa köyhänä synnyit ja köyhänä kuolet, etkä välissäkään rikastu...
Miulla meni monta vuotta siihen kun makoilin kotona ja yritin hyväksyä itseni tällaisena kun olen ja sen hyväksymiseen etten voi tehdä töitä enää koskaan. Tuntuu että, nyt olisi ekaa kertaa kaiken tämän jälkeen motivaatio tehdä ja olenkin tehnyt. Mutta tämä latistaa nyt paljon tunnelmia. Mie olin unelma-ammatissa joten ei ihme että, tilanteeni hyväksyminen oli hankalaa ja samalla romahti joka suhteessa koko elämä. Jäin sitten lapsen kanssa kaksistaan...
Enkä mie kyllä enää odotakkaan löytäväni parisuhdetta tällä iällä ja tällä vammaisuudellani...
Mutta toivoisin että, voisin pitää elämän syrjästä kiinne hyvän harrastuksen avulla mutta nyt tämän hetkisen tilanteen valossa ei näytä hyvältä.
Jokatapauksessa menen viikonloppuna katsomaan valmennusta naapurikaupunkiin kun ei sinne ole niin pitkä matka. uskon kuitenkin että, saan sieltä omaan ratsastukseeni vinkkejä kuitenkin.
Tuo SRL:n luokittaja on reissussa mutta palaa torstaina joten soitan silloin hänelle ja kuulen sitten lisää siitä asiasta. Luokitusta ei tarvitse ennenkuin aluekisoissa eli noviisiluokkiin voi mennä aiemmin. Mutta henkilökohtaisesti olen sitä mieltä että, minun pitää saada tietää 99% varmuudella luokittajalta oma tilanteeni ennenkuin menen edes noviisiluokkaan sillä minusta se ei muuten ole eettisesti reilua muita vammaisratsastajia kohtaan. En tiedä miten muut vammaisratsastajat ovat tämän joskus ajatelleet kun luokitus on omalle kohdalle ollut ajankohtainen mutta itse koen tämän asian tärkeäksi...

Mice & Rats

This is Dolly, age of 5 weeks and color is silver black. She is cleaning herself. Rats are very clean animals. Dolly is still shy...
Here is Hope aged 7 weeks, color is russian blue. I wonder why I like the color, any similarity to kerries maybe??? Hope is very friendly, curious and likes to stay in my lap already. Pictures taken by J.Rämö.
This is Opal when she was very small mouse girl. Now she is already over 2 months. Colour is chinchilla.
This one is Norella and here she is just a baby. Now she is also over two months.. Long haired and colour is called something liked argente creme but it is diluted by blue gene... So it ins't approved colour but sometimes when breeding mice you might get something very exotic out. But you will learn a lot of genetics also of course...
This Kuutar is my favourite she is short-haired but satin version black fox color. So there is lots of shiny in that coat. All our mice are from same breeder miss Hanne Hirvonen Sotkulammen Hiiret

This is one of those many points why people should always buy their animals direct from breeders, not never from animal stores.

Jades breeder have an animal equipment shop, but there isn't animals at all, only equipments for your pet. I don't buy animals from shop, so shouldn't you!

It's been almost two months since my last blog post. I have had many worries and I still have. My biggest problem is the way we live. I mean this apartment, I would rather live on the countryside at the cottage. So that the wouldn't be any neighbors very close. So we are looking all the that cottage for us, I mean for rent of course.

That would be ideal for Jade of course because she has used to live on large territory. That is why she has sort of problems to adapt here in this type of living. Too many dogs in small area, and I cant keep her running free here anymore. Because we might bump to another dogs which don't know how to behave nicely.....

You probably remember when I told my old new riding hobby. I had a very long driving to that farm. So my friend showed a link from internet where I did find this other place. I have only 10 km to this stables. There is this Finnish horse which I normally ride and also two half bloods which I will ride in the future. There is only 5 horses and one is this springs filly! So cute.....

My time and also Jades time has gone in the stables, Jade has been very exciting in running wild there and also while I have been riding she has been running with us in the woods!

We have been in two dog shows, placing in veteran class BOS and BOB!

During May we got more mice, three girls: Kuutar, Opal and Norella. I will post pictures later... They are very lovely and very easy to handle. Norella belongs to my daughter and those other belongs to me.

I have been very worried about our old terrible car, which had several problems. So now I found also a old car but much better VW Golf. And I'm very relieved. We have applied some money from deaconess institution, nut it takes several months before you will here anything from there. If we will get any money from there we will use that for modern car, because our old new is 22 years old.....

Yesterday there was a pet show in Lappeenranta where I took our mice. Even it was only pet show we had official judge there. My friend was secretary and I was assistant. It was very educational opportunity because judge Andersson told us a lot of information all those mice and rats that she was judging. I never saw anyone to handle animals with such confidence. And her way to told one rat owner how to prepare rat to petshow was very nice and teaching but not hurting. She also clipped that rats nails! Her attitude was 110%...I wish that there much more judges like her!

Then I don't know what happened, I just saw the worlds most beautiful rat girl! Color is russian blue and her name is now Hope and she got friend Dolly and color is silver black. For a long time I have wanted an another animal breed but I have done some searching....

I mean rats are intelligent and easy to care, what more could you ask?? I also like hedgehogs but they aren't so easy to take care and not so pet like. I mean you can't pet them so much. I'm not a fun of bunnies or hamsters or gerbils. And I have to think about Jade too, what would be a breed that she could manage with?

The breeder of my rats is judge Andersson so now you guess that rats are very well handled and also in excellent condition.

Jade did smell and lick a bit of Hope yesterday. Hope is 7 weeks old. She took that very well. Dolly is 5 weeks old and she hasn't met Jade yet.

Well Bunnys school year is over with very good diploma. So second class is waiting her next autumn.... But lets spend the summer first....

Ode to Jade

These are the toes that have been walking and running with me last ten years. They still are beautiful, smooth and yes they do smell good. I wonder how many kilometers those paws have walked?

The gorgeous eye, that understanding, wise look, deep in those eyes lies a secret... Kerrys life is great!

Her coat colour tells us that she is the Queen of all dogs. That mysterious blue coat is silky, every night when I go to my bed, she comes with me. She lies down close to me and I pet her as long as we both fall asleep. We see blue silky dreams...

That nose of hers is almost black and is always a bit wet. She smells everything with that wether its food or other kerries or Felix the mouse. But the most wonderful thing is when she sniffs me and wags her tail!

Long blue beard, need I say more? That distinguish beard which no other breed hasn't got. I like that tickling when Jade sniffles me and kisses me. How could I ever resist her? Now you I can't, she has been my soulmate last ten years.... I love you Jade so much, I wonder if you know...

Jade is getting better now

Last saturday I mean week ago she started to diarrhea very strongly. On monday morning I called to our own kerryvet and we went to visit her. Jade got two different very strong bowel antibiotics cure. Now she is quite vivid and no more diarrhea anymore. But I'm still very careful with her food and exercise of course.

Last night we did sleep in Bunnys bed, loft bed! Because Hanne our dear friend was here and we had girls night. We did talk almost through the night! We fall asleep about 3.30 into morning! Bunny has already started her Easter vacation and she left to visit her dad to up north. Together their travel up to lake Inari and last 60 km they have go with snowmobile to their lodge. it's very beautiful place but very simple, no running water, no electricity. Absolutely my idea of lodge.

My huparent's left me here last friday. They also left my bed, food, my toys, everything. It would be ok if I were here together with Jade. But Jane is here too and she is sooo demanding.... I'm not allowed to take Bunny's socks or Jane's. Booring I say. And I' m not allowed to go Bunny's room, but I have managed to go there few times and I found some stuffed animals there, but somehow Jane didn't like that at all. I wonder why??

Jane said that my huparents went Barcelona, Spain and they couldn't take me to there. Also she told me that they will come back for me. Of course they will, what a silly idea....

I wonder what they will bring for me? A beautiful spanish boxer girl perhaps.....

Jack left me yesterday. I'm still not sure why. I do understand that I'm not a good catch, if I may say so. Think about it, I'm single mother, I am incapacitated and I wont be able to work anymore, so my incomes are very small. That's why I have decided to live my life alone. I can't stand when relationship ends, it's devastating. And I'm getting too old for this game...

At monday I was in water aerobic, that was great. While I was there Bunny was swimming in children's pool and also in huge water slide!

Today I was in stables again and yes horse riding! And I love it again. That pony Robinsson is really sweet... Landscape was something like winter wonderland, it was really beautiful... What a shame that I didn't have camera with me there, maybe next time....

Don't worry Jade is ok, but exhausted because she was there too, and she did run about hour and half in cross country while I was riding... So she sleeps and also snores really badly..... Poor old sweet kerry lady!! I think she needs crunchy rabbit ears...

Horse riding

Need I say more?? Jane started riding again. Last time she rode about 6 years ago. Last Thursday she went to ride, guess what happened!? Her muscles (or cellulite? ;) ) are really aching. But the miracle thing is that her knee where the arthritis is, was painless over an day and night! Jane was really happy.

Main reason for starting riding again is to rehabilitate herself. She rides the New forest pony which is 148 cm high so it's very good size for her. That pony, Robin is very well trained and Jane rides only cross-country, the owner does everything else. I mean she competes in dressage. And that is good deal for her..

On monday Jane will go to swimming hall for water aerobics which is designed for people who are suffering fibromyalgia, arthritis etc... Boy after that her muscles are going to be.... you know....

Guess what, my life is easy, I'm just her personal trainee!

I couldn't resist these fabrics.... How could I? Red one with white dots for me, the others for my Bunny. Notice the matching tee mug and spoon...

I realize that I have my parents old living room table in my storage from 1960's. So I did drag that in. Now it has a new life, as a sewing table where I can draw patterns and cut fabrics. I will also make curtains around the table so that I can use the area under that table as a storage area. You can see Jades bed and her stuffie dog!!

I made hoody to my Bunny while she was spending her winter holiday with her dad. Pattern is from Ottobre magazine which is Finnish pattern magazine but it is released also in Scandinavia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Holland.

Well here she is with her new hoodie! And she loves it! Jade is sleeping at the moment with Bunny because we all missed each other. Bunny made a bed herself next to my bed so it's kind of "sisters bed", hope you understand what I mean..

1. I sleep every night in Jane's bed with Jane of course! Where else would I sleep?? There isn't more suitable place for me here, after all I' quite dignified.

2. I watch telly everyday, and our neighbors can hear it too, cause I bark very loud when I see other animals there. Have anyone told you that those animals might come in to your house if you don't defend your home. For heavens sake my dear friends! In every house should have homedefence forces by terriers!!!

3.I bark in our car when Jane isn't there. I have to defence that too and also hope that somebody might give me food a lot there.. Or just for the fun... It's fun to organize some disturbance .

4. I like too much small animals, I've heard... I wonder why?? But turtle soup without soup was good.... I'm sooooooooo baaaaaaaaaaad , I know I'm sorry

5. At the moment I'm hungry, actually I'm always hungry, very hungry, very very hungry, so please you can donate me food and rabbit ears, so call jade-is-hungry line, hurry, pleaaaaase!!!!

6. I'm 10 years old, but last summer our friend asked that how old is that cute schnauzer puppy!! Please, I was so hurt, I'm not a schnauzer.......

This is my new sewing corner as you can see. Jack made those shelves to me. They are already full of my sewing stuff, books about kerries and Finnish Kerry & Wheaten magazines. I'm really happy about those shelves.

For me those shelves and whole sewing corner is good thing because my bed is on the right side of that corner. Every time Jane is sewing I'm in my bed and I might get something good to eat....

This week has been so busy. My Jane has been working whole week as a secretary to this organization. It's voluntary work but it seems to me that there is lot of work to do. So I haven't been able to use our computer...

Then Jack is back on sick leave because of very bad flu. So now my readers you guess that Jane has been taken care of him..... Instead of me...

Oh yes, I got some very delicious pig noses and rabbit ears...

Tonight Jane and Bunny were the team and I was the other team with Jack and we played Trivial Pursuit. And of course my overall wisdom achieved our victory!!!!

Well I must go and read more to keep my brains in fit!!

We don't like Flexi leash

This is the reason why we don't like Flexi. Sometimes it's difficult to pass other doggie walkers if they have flexi leash and they let their dog to run along "wild and free"... Probably you know what I mean by this. Few weeks ago I was driving by car and I saw a voman with medium size dog, and of course flexi. Woman was talking to her mobile phone and while I drove pass them the dog got mad and ran towards my car. Because she had flexi and the owner was talking to the mobile phone she couldn't do anything. Luckily I was able to turn my car away from them! But it was close call!

Dog Show news

This weekend was great to us. Me and Jane went to dog show to Juva with our breeder T.Paukku kennel Slievemish. I did attend to veteran class because of my age. I was BOB veteran and also BIS-2 veteran (Best in show 2 veteran) in whole dog show. We had also BIS-2 breeder class, one of our bitches was BOB and other one got her last cc and became Finnish Champion. So after all we had a great day.

After that at home I got my reward. Dryed and smoked rabbit ear, it's really good and there is no fat so my stomach won't get uppset.

After that I was so tired that I went to bed with Jack but he fell sleep sooner than I! And he wasn't even in that dog show!!

It's dark outside but still we are going to for a walk. We don't like this polar nights here because it's too dark. It makes you feel sad and grumpy. We are already waiting spring time....

Today was my beauty day and we did measure my beard also! Behind me you can see some of my prizes that I have won in dog shows here in Finland and other countries.

Jane was bit funny and measured my beard also other way, you can see that it's quite long 7 inches long that way!!!

And the final measurement was only 5,2 inches. So I'm bit disappointed because my beard didn't grow at all, even though I tried almost everything. I even asked Santa Claus to bring me longer beard. Then I ate dry meat a lot, Jane told me that it was too much.... Then I tried multivitamins, but perhaps they didn't help because they were for humans only. I also heard that plants like chicken fertiliser but in the middle of winter I couldn't find it anywhere. Well I guess that wouldn't help cause I'm not a plant.....

I guess Christmas is finally and officially over. And this is the last gingerbread that me and Jane are going to share tonight when we are going to have our cup of tee. She makes every Christmas these kerrygingerbreads. They are my favourites!

I know that some people and perhaps some dogs make different kind of promises when year changes. I haven't never done. And I didn't this time either. Maybe I should, perhaps something like that I promise to behave my best.
Jane is very sad. I know why, because Jack is sick, forever. So he is chronically ill but he will be ok in everyday life, even though he needs medical care every day.
Well my news were very short today.... Hopefully I have better news some other day...

I did wait quit a long time Santa Claus in our yard. Because he lives here in Finland he needs of course his own kerryelf, that's me folks!!!

I think he's late a bit. I hope Rudolf the reindeer is ok, and Santa Claus hasn't stuck on somebody's chimney somewhere near...
This is my official Christmas kerryelf outfit, we haven't seen anyone else dogelfs here....

Me me me me, my my my my my , meet meet meet meet meet! Jack makes me my own beef roast this Christmas! I think I almost love him.... No I don't, I love Jane!! But because I do protect him when Otto is here, he makes me Christmas meal.... That is good deal... We Kerrys are clever! After a good meat meal it's time for nap with my stuffie kerry. We are waiting my christmas presents.... I can see them now! Hey when Santa was here? I didn't see him??? How is it possible??

I did got a new water bowl because Janes hand are so weak and the current bowl is too big and heavy. This new one is stylish. Also I got pigs noses and ears and small cookies and Bunny gave me a christmas cookie.

I ve been eaten some much that I feel like a (hmm) sea lion! Better go for walk with folks! Seems my Jane has same problem...

Jane has trained me a lot, as you can see me in this picture, I'm very tired....Somehow I also look grumpy..
But I love Jade because she is so soft.. Jane is only ok, because she is so demanding. I'm not allowed to pull on a leash, or jump to people, or steal socks. Boring I say, and that is one reason why I'm here every day, the other reason for that is because my hudad got a new hip. So he cannot take care of me at the moment and my humom works everyday. So I'm here everyday from 8-16 except weekends.
Well soon it will be Christmas so next week we will post some Christmas pictures!!

Hi my friends out there, Jane has been very busy because soon is Christmas and she has been shopping and also knitting and sewing presents...

I have done some work, I mean I am official friendship dog now, and on regularly I visit in different retirement units.

And this is the second week when we have had a boxer boy here in our home in daycare and also for training....
I'll write more and also put pictures of him here on Sunday.

Tomorrow is our independence day! So we are celebrating it tomorrow...

Tengmalm's Owl

We did a little bi shopping in Moody Deko because Jane fell in love with this owl. It's handmade in Estonia. It is quite big and that is the reason we like it.

As you can see it is very beautiful with or without candle lights. Every one of these are unique. And the best thing is that you can keep this either inside or outside your house!

I'm a little Kerry blue terrier pup. In our litter there is 3 girls and 3 boys. Jane's woollen sock tastes hmm weird...

Actually it wasn't me who ate that woolly sock.... I'm so innocent.....And cute...

These puppies are only 5 weeks old and they are already using paper as they toilet place!! Kerries are smart!!

Kennel Slievemish had this litter with co-operation with Elbrley's kennel from USA.

When we got back home Jade was very excited because she smelled those puppies.
Good news are that we are back on our daily walking routine, we truly have waited that so much! Her toes are like new ones!
Bad news is that stupid stupid water leak in our kitchen. But we girls and a little boy mouse decided that we are not going to give up! So tails up even if I have to glue them up sometimes! So we aren't going to move anywhere during renovation. So we are camping in our home!!! So you will see all those renovation pictures....

Healthy Toes!

Jane took those stitches away from my toes yesterday. And my toes are healthy again! So I'm ready for long walks, at the moment I don't mind that it is very rainy weather...
And next Saturday I'm allowed to go to the sauna, I love the sauna. And also next week I have my beauty day, my breeder will groom my fur and Jane will give me a good bath. At the moment I'm so happy and I'm really waiting my beauty day!

There is only one problem in our house, in our kitchen there is water leak. And we have to move somewhere while they are fixing it. We don't know yet how long it takes, or where we are moving and when!

Yes Jane is depressed at the moment because we don't know who is going to pay this bill put lets hope that we don't have to.

Now I'll go and drag my Jane for a walk!!

Another Operation

Yesterday Jane my humom took those stitches away from my paw, but the operation wound opened immediately and she also found that there was a little bit of tumour. We don't know if it was old or new tumour or inflammation reaction.
Of course we went to see my kerryvets but they where in Helsinki (Finland's capitol) in veterinary conference. So there where a very young vet student and no qualified vetnurse. So my beloved Jane and this young vet student put me in to anesthesia. And then they removed that little tumour or whatever it was, and also they put new stitches to my wound. My Jane took care of my anesthesia all the time and helped with the operation and she made very good limb bandage.
If my paw won't recover this time, then they have to remove that toe because there isn't enough skin for recovery anymore.
Now I have to be inside next 14 days, and I have to just lie down and be cool...Very booooring my friends...

Tumours

Jane found two tumours from my left back leg, they are between my toes. We visited my own kerryvets (yes, they have bred and they still have kerry from the same breeder that I'm from). They did check those tumours and decided that they need very urgent operation on this Monday morning.
So weekend was quite annoying. I mean Jane and Jack was very worried about me. So they tried to keep busy and so we did some shopping on Saturday. And also they change the arrangement of our living room...But it's better now, much more roomier now...
On Sunday our Bunny came home, she was visiting her dad.... And we went to sauna and Jane washed me and Jack made barbecue sausage at sauna stove, so there were delicates to me!
This morning me and Jane went to meet out kerryvets and Mallu gave me a shot, (nasty one) but I fell a sleep and I didn't feel anything.
While I was sleeping they Mallu and Pekka made the surgery and and now those tumours are away. And guess what? They were benign tumours! Jane and Jack, my breeder Tiina, my grandma, my friends here are so happy here! So no cancer!! I'm going to be just fine and I can also go to that big dog show!
Thansk a lot for my life saver kerryvets Mallu and Pekka! I love you!
No I need to sleep more because I'm still very tired!

Very old kerry stuffie

Here it is, our very old kerry stuffie dog. Our bunny got that from her godmother when she was very little. Here in this picture Bunny is only 3 years old and after Kerry blue terrier ring in big dog show, she went to the ring and showed her stuffie dog there and she got BOB from the Judge! She did that in every dog show for two years in time I think so... She was so cute because at home sometimes she washed and dryed and even groomed that stuffie dog...

Now as you can see our stuffie is bit shabby or more...I mean she has lost her both eyes and also her nose has gone, I don't know where... But Jane promised to fix her. She was made by very young kerry owner, I think she was teenager when she made two of these. Other one lives with my breeder. So those stuffies are older than I am!

Me and Jane would like to have a wheelie Kerry but at the moment we are not sure if it should be wheelie or just stuffie... So this needs serious thinking and discussing. And nope we are not going to ask Bunnys or Jacks opinion on this matter.

And no I'm not allowed to go for walks yet because of that stupid wound....I'm getting really bored and frustrated here inside.... Jane is sewing something.... I hate my life right now....

The Beard Contest! (my wound also...)

I decided to take a part to growing beard contest. So here is my beard measurement picture. Jane did the measurement and bunny took this picture. I' very proud of bunny because she's only 7 years.
Well my result is almost 5,5 inch. I'm surprised that it's sooo long at the moment! But I better still grow my beard still...

This is my wound as some of you may remember that GS bite me while ago. So here is the wound today, it looks much better know. Jane is going to take away those rest of stitches. I have still 9 days to go whit those antibiotics. My wound doesn't seem to heal very well that is why have to eat so long cure of antibiotics.
I hope that everybody has very nice weekend with nice weather and lots of goodies and hope you can spend some quality time with someone you love a lot! I'll spend my quality time with Jane, Bunny and Jack formerly known T (Janes boyfriend).

Yesterday I mean Sunday Jane and Bunny decided to clean her room. So I was too allowed to go her room. I was very surprised when I found a mouse from her room!!!! How it is possible? There it lives in his own terrarium! Very happily and he doesn't even mind me! I mean how should I react to him? By the way his name is Felix, a mouse with name, have you ever heard anything so stupid?
After all, I am terrier and I should keep all rodents out of my house. When did this happen and how? Should I eat him or not? Oh no I can't eat him because he is Bunny's pet after all....
Have I ever told you when I ate our turtle...

At the moment I have too much to think about in this mouse business... I watched this mouse yesterday 2 hours and I'm very confused.... Too much monkey business I say and so said Chuck Berry...

Accident

I'm on sick leave during the next two weeks. In this same terrace house lives a German shepherd male dog, he has always been very odd case. (Aren't they all?Sorry, bad me). Well I was out late at that Wednesday night with Jane when that dreadful Gs attacked to me. Well now I have L shaped wound in my paddle and about 10 stitches. And of course I have to eat antibiotics for couple weeks.
I can't even wear my normal collar cause it will scour stitches. Now I have to wear stupid regular collar, I hate it.....
Jane's camera doesn't work at the moment so no pictures....boooooring....
At the moment life sucks because I can't run or walk normally. Because that wound is in my paddle it's in difficult place because it's very vulnerability when you move.... So I'm already bored.......
Please if you what I can do, let me know......

Yes, today I met my physiotherapist. I have been exercising last 6 months very actively. You might know that I have problems with my back and also with my knee and then I have fibromyalgia and very difficult migraine and also asthma. These are the main reasons why I'm disability pensioner. My physiotherapist and I were very surprised when we realised that my physical condition has improved a lot since I started cycling with Jade.
Now we will keep on meeting every third week and I'll do the exercise....
My motivation is to attend our kennel clubs biggest annual dog show 13-14.12.2008. So both of us have to be in good condition there.
We are going t show that we veterans do rock still!!!
After Christmas I'm going to keep on exercise because I have looked from internet next years dog shows. And yes we are going to attend some of them.... I know myself so I have to have a good motivation to do something and dog shows are the huge motivation to me cause I love them and Jade loves them too!

I think my bed is too small. As you can see my feet don't fit anymorein to my bed. But I have a solutions for this. I want to sleep in the sofa between Jane and T!
I don't know why they don't always like that idea.... Very often I just jump to the sofa and just lie down in my Janes lap....

Beauty Day

After my beauty day I and Bunny were so tired.... So we needed a nap. Jane cleaned my teeth and then we decided to remove my small epulis because it bleeds very easily. Next month we will meet our favourite vet!
Next December we have here in Finland our biggest dog show in Helsinki. Jane and I are thinking if we should go there...

I've been very busy lately

Yes my furry friends, Jane has kept me very very busy. Still we have been cycling, it's really a big secret why she don't drive her car at the moment.... But I'll tell you, she has been very naughty girl lately.... She drove too fast and too many times. So police took her drivers license away for two months! So now she actually is very sporty and likes to cycle or walk very much. So after all this isn't very bad thing to us. We will get our licence back 14.10.

And the other thing is that I have had to work very hard because Jane needs me as chaperon. She has been dating T. He is few years younger than Jane but very nice man indeed. He likes very much dogs, and I like him.... Hope Jane likes him too... But don't tell Jane that I told you.....

But now I guess it's my beauty day, including spa, trimming and everything what Jane figures out...

Janes birthday present!

Yesterday we had Janes and Bunnys birthday party. Well because bunny is now 7 years she got a lot girlie presents. But my Jane got a beautiful present from her dear friend. I like that friend too because, when ever I visit her, she gives me paw biscuits, a lot....

I don't remember if have ever told you my dear readers, especially hairy ones...wirn... that my Jane likes sawing and hand crafting. So she got the this very beautiful sewing box, look at that matching fabric.... it's like made for her...

It is very small but not too small because we tested it yesterday already! We put there needle book, scissors, measuring tape, yarns, pins, laces, buttons....

And if you think that sewing box was empty when Jane got it, you thought wrong! There were some beautiful things. Pins and special buttons for example!

Those pins are sort of special pins I think so. My Jane is practical and buys regular and also dull pins, but hmm pins cannot be dull or can they? To be or not to be, what a problem!

Our favourite berry strawberry! Was in that box too, it reminds us from summer. Summertime is the best part of the whole year..

This is small pin cushion, you should wear it in your finger! So small and so practical.

And last but not least Janes miniature birthday cake! Looks very much eatable to me.... Jane can't stop looking that because it's so luscious...

Party itself was very good cause I got some birthday cake and everything else too. Because Bunnys friends didn't manage to eat very well so under the table was a lot of chocolate pie, tiger cake and chips. Jane asked me to vacuum under the table. All those children were very excited when Jane said that I am organic vacuum cleaner, and also very quiet one too! What a laugh we got!!

I forget to show you what I got as a birthday present yesterday. So here it is, this beautiful glass jar. And then we put all those goodies that I bought yesterday into that jar. Now this goodies jar is in the kitchen. Great!

Somehow Jane looks like Shaun the sheep because she is knitting all the time that is possible. By the way she isn't so clever than Shaun, hus don't tell that to her..... But anyway we both do like to watch Shaun the sheep from our computer. Believe me, we have them all, I mean episodes....

Birthday Girl

Guess what day today is?! Yes it's my birthday, you should never ask how old Lady is. But because I'm in excellent condition and the age is not a problem to me, I can tell that to you! Iam 10 years today!

This is taken at our friends shop, where I drop by to do some shopping today. There was this good chair so I spend some time sitting there and the customers gave me cuddles. Life should be like that everyday!

Here I'm paying my shopping. Few bowls and some small racks. I'm quite sure that red rug was there because of my birthday!

The last stop was my breeders pet shop. I bought some Cracker Jacks there, because they are sooo gooood! Yes as you can see two packages. After that we went back home and took some beauty nap. Then out for a walk!

Dear Buster! There is something you should know when you chase the the maker of the duomo. You need a proper disguise. So here is some advice for you how to make it.

First, find some nice dry spot of lawn where you can find something interesting for your disguise.

Second, lie down and roll over very carefully by the way this is very relaxing for your muscles too. And that is important too when you have work undercover.

Third, remember the other side to so roll over again. And when you work undercover, ask you hu-mom to make you decent lunch box because these lurk gigs may take quite a lot of time.

Fourth, this could be ready now, lets see how do I look now!

Fifth, look what a perfect disguise! Now I'm very sure that nobody won't recognise me. So Buster, good luck with that mystery of duomo!

This is really a comfort shoe to my feet! El naturalista from Spain, hand made and they use materials that are the least harmful materials for the production of their shoes. All their products are dyed with natural colours. They are using, if possible recycled materials, such us the recycled PU foot bed or recycled rubber for their soles (N 096 Iggdrasil). When it comes to dyeing El Naturalista uses the least harmful chrome combination for the environment. And the frog brand also invented the "pergamino leather" which is treated without the use of chrome.

So because they are very good in my feet I couldn't resist them. So now I have them and I'm watching their web site because I really would like to have another pair of El Naturalista for autumn....

Summer cottage

Last night I and Jane were invited to our friends summer cottage for the night. So we packed our backpack really quickly and then we left!

The cottage is in beautiful place, what a view! Lots a water and so beautiful surroundings. First we all went to sauna and also Jane swam second time this summer!

After sauna our friend M did some food for us. And of course I got a little bit of sausage.

After midnight we went to bed. I had a great night sleep. I'm not sure about Jane, I believe she didn't sleep very well. But then still I think she was happier and relaxed than a long time.

What comes to me, it really was great to run outside and get some extra cuddles from M. Thanks and see you later!

Goodies

We found something real good from our local pet store. Now after that horrible diarrhoea I'm very thin, so I need some weight more. Well my breeder keeps this pet store and she recommended dry meat for me. It tastes really good. At the moment Jane gives me only a little bit of it every day, so that my stomach doesn't get upset.

I did some gardening with Jane today. We hopefully did killed weeds by weed killer. Let's hope so. Then we did cut some other plants, I really don't know what there where. Jane said that there were dead plants and other weeds. And then we realized that in our small apple tree has few apples growing! That is great!

Rainy Days are here to stay??

I don't know where's the real summer. Those warm sunny days when you just want to take sun and swim. But after all I did swim on Saturday evening on lake Saimaa! And I love it! Actually I should swim everyday because it's good for fibromyalgia...
Because it's been so rainy summer so far, there is a lot of mites in the woods. So I found many, many mites from my friends dogs. Even though I'm veterinary nurse, I think that they are really disgusting. Later in the evening I found one mite walking in my hand an the second one was walking in my neck. After that I lost my night sleep. I did few check ups but I didn't found them anymore. But still I couldn't sleep very well cause I felt that I was itchy all the time. What a night...

Today I did the mite check up for Jade put there wasn't any of them. Lucky Jade! She is now very thin and tomorrow we have to buy some dry meat. It should be very efficient. We really hope to get some warm sunny days so that we could be out in the yard and some gardening....

I haven't been very active lately. The intervertebral disk of my back is in terrible pain at the moment. My doctor gave me prescription of some heavy painkillers. So mostly I been sleeping all day long and all night long.

When I was wake I read latest Cath Kidston catalogue, there are so many things that I like!! If I were rich....You know what would I do!!!

Still I have done something, I got a toilet sign from my mother not long ago. But it did look a bit pale on the door. So something had to be done. So here is that sign now!

I think it looks better with bow, it brings some colour and of course a bit 50's style or country style. It depends on spectators mind after all!

Midsummer eve

This is the day and night when sun is shining 24 hours. It's celebration time, I and Bunny are staying at home this year. We are going to make good food and also eat some chips and goodies. We have new potatoes, fish and fresh tomatoes, salad, cucumber and spring onion also saladcheese and olives. So I belive that we are going to have some nice dinner tomorrow.

Jade is healthy now! I'm really happy about that, she means so much to me. She is lively and happy again. We have already done small walks. I think we could go in to woods now.

I won at huutonetti a great groomingbox, it's a big box with several departments where I can keep all my grooming things. It probably comes to me on next tuesday, so pictures are coming then..

I hope that everyone has nice Midsummer eve this year! I know that our family will have...

My bunny came home on last sunday. I already mist her. Today is tuesday and we cleaned her room all over.
Weather is great, it's sunny and warm, real summer is here finally! In the late afternoon Bunnys best friend came to stay overnight with us. I made rhubarb pie for us, girls did love it!
Sometimes I hope these kind of days never ends, it's been so peaceful and lovely day. Now worries and now troubles....
The only thing I need is good long nightsleep....Bye now..

Stomach ache

As you read the last posting what Jane wrote, you know that I'm suffering severe abdominal pain. It's because I ate reindeer ribs in a hurry and too much.
It did cause me severe diarrhoea and vomiting. The diarrhoea was really bad, I had to go out much more frequently than normally. .
Vomiting was wretched because after all that there was nothing to womit and I felt terrible. Jane gave to me Nutrisal plus medicine, that tastes really good. So I ate few tea spoons of that, then I wanted to drink some water.
Now my diarrhoea is almost over, beacause my last faece was whole piece and not water anymore! And I feel much better now!
So remember friends don't ever eat any kind of real bones!!!! They really are dangerous for us. I'm lucky to survive, and I'm lucky that they didn't cause any severe obstruction and damage.

Hard days night

I've cleaned the house, I've cleaned our storage and our garden fairy visited us today. Yes it was a had week and hard day today.
It took two days to clean our storage. I throw away 5 garbage sacks, 1 sack goes to paris flea market and one sack goes to bunnys cousin. Then I did unberden one big closet, that goes to our godson. Also I found toys, two little chairs and a little table for him also.
Today I cleaned the house. I took all our rugs out, washed floors, dusted everything. Then I washed all doors too. Maybe I have gone mad but it relly felt good!!
Then my garden fairy visited us, she found some flowers from our terrible looking flowerbed. She did some magical things there with me and somehow it looks really beautiful now. So thank you my garden fairy!
Jade is very sig at the moment but getting better now.... As soon as she will get better she will post writing about how dangerous bones can be for kerries an all dogs!

We were shopping together today. I have a little problem, I'm at the moment too thin. So Jane bought me reindeer ribs. They are really good, taste, jummy....
I also eat "active dogs" food even though I'm already ten years old. But kerries are often very active even they are old. Am I old? No I'm not. Who says I'm old, not me... Did you say I'm old? Did Jane say that I'm old? Hmp, I'm getting dizzy...

But thing is that we see everyday overweight dogs when we go for our walk. It is really sad, because obesity may not only reduce a dog's enjoyment of life but a number of serious clinical problems have now been linked to to the condition, including: osteoarthritis, diabetes mellitus, circulatory problems, respiratory distress and reduced exercise tolerance.

What causes obesity? It is a consequense of energy intake exceeding requirement at some stage in the dog's life. If you don't find dog's ribs easily when you try, dog is obesity. A bit fat layer on the top of ribs is good, but when you don't know where they are, get worry and do something.

Best way to get your dog to loose some weight is to go to your local vet. First thing to do is weighing your dog, put that terrible number on the paper. Then talk to Vet. Vet will tel you all about dietary foods, which are much more better than in petstore. And then the hardest part is that you don't give anything else your beloved dog than dietary food. Remember, you do this because you love your dog and you want that she/he lives longer, healthier and happier life! Keep this in your mind and you will be successful.

After month been in diet, go back to your Vet and do the weighing again. Remember that ugly paper from the first time? See how much your dog lost weight in one month??

Grandma has obesity shelti, she weighs about 10kg. Lets see after one month how much she has loose weight.

Great visit to grandma & grandpa

Hey! I had the greatest visit ever to my grandparents! There is three shelties and one of them is too fat, and that was my big luck! Because Jane is veterinary nurse and she put that shelti on a low calorie diet. After that she took all fatty delicacys from grandma to me. Can you imagine how lucky kerry I am?? Probably the worlds luckiest kerry ever! I have those great meatballs, lots of meat, dried bread, fattybones... I'm in doggie food heaven at the moment!

Back home

We were visiting my parents for few days. It was very hard trip for me in mentally. My dad has parkinson disease, very weak heart, difficult diabetes, and so on... But now I realise that he has given up. He gave me all his tools from storage. And he didn't even want to know what tools there were in that storage. He has always built and repair anything so that is why he has so much tools.

Also I did took two of my mothers dogs to local vet. That local vet offered me veterinary nurse job, after I've been there five minutes. But I didn't took that job, because I don't want to move anywhere from here. This is my home, my heart is here, my roots are here. That's matters alot to me. I'm happy here, my Bunny is happy here. My friends are here. My life is here, and it's good here right now, I thank Good for that!

After that trip I was so tired that slept 5 hours in hte middle of the saturday, I mean yesterday. Last night I slept 9½ hours. Now I feel good.

Me and my dauhgter, called here Bunny. Answered to our friends call and promised to help her to take care little dogs. Youngest one is only 4 months so she needs to go out quite often still. It was fun to go out with all those three white miniatyr schnautzer. I took some photos and then we just played in the sun. It was very warm and so sunny. Those colours in the nature are right so bright and clear. Summer is for me so important, I survive through dark winter, when I watch all those pictures that I have taken in last summer. All those colours and particularly green in all those different shades of that colour are wonderful.

Jane went somewhere yesterday. I did smell it!!! Strange dogs, I really don't like it. They are white zwergschnauzer, I'm depressed.... Those little dogs she has been taken care of yesterday and today. I tought that I was the Only dog in her life...
Jane, don't leave me, pleeease! And if you leave me, please leave lots of food.
But hey I'm the Queen of all gods, this can't go on! No I have to go and tell Jane who's the only dog in her life....Hmm, some kisses and tail wagging would do the trick, I suppose....

Some flowers

Today me and Jane went to buy some flowers. I got myself a permission to go in that flower shop! It was a great place to snif around. We bought "keijunmekko" and "mustasilmä Susanna" because they are our favourites. Now they are in our backyard, look how beautiful they are!
When they grow up more, we will take some better photos, for you....
It's been lovely day, so warm and sunny, so we have been outside enjoying this weather.
We have also apple tree in our backyard and three blackcurrant bushes.

Guess what? Jane's gone totally mad, she moved our furniture here in our house yesterday all day long. So that I couldn't take any decent nap all day long...
Then we did looong shopping trip. They are were exhausting trips. I tell you why, because I have to whatch our car, so that nobody dears to come close... So I have to be alert and bark all that time while Jane is shopping! You don't have any idea how hard that work is...

My sewing studio

I bought yesterday this beautiful shelves from Ylva-Lii. She has wonderful shop here. As you can see it fits perfectly there. I also bought some beautiful fabrics too. I have lots of ideas what I'm going to do with those. In this picture you can also see my two sewing machines! Older one is made here in Finland during 1940-1950, made by Tikkakoski and of course it's still working! I'll promise you that someday I'll take some vintage picture of that. My new one is Janome Jem Platinum, last Christmas Santa Claus gave it to me! I love that machine.
Last night I made a scottie from brown felt. It still needs collar, perhaps red an white... Photos comes later...
Also I want to make needlebook for my sewing needles, I found great pattern for that.

This is very old advertisment from 1940's or 50's. I love that kerry in that picture, it's so cute!
And look at that liver, it really looks fresh and red, these days if you buy tin food, I think it looks ugly, sorry but that's my opinion.

Well I'm getting hungry.....So I better go and make some food for us....

Long walk

Today I had a long walk with our family's daughter. She's only 6 years old but we took 4 km walk, because she wanted some ice cream. You know how easily you get those kids to do what ever you want them to do. I mean promise something stupid them, for example ice cream ant they will walk forever! I wouldn't, never! Or have you ever heard about kerry blue terrier who would walk many kilometers just because of some stupib ice cream. I mean I wouldn't, not I in my age anyway. Perhaps I might walk if there were somewhere some desecnt liver, who knows?
